The Threat Is Real and It Is Now

Perry Stone, like many current TV evangelical preachers, are attempting to awaken the sleeping church to the dangerous rise of the Islamic threat to the world, in particular the United States. He unerringly points out the methods being employed by Islamic leaders and spokesmen to overthrow and eventually subjugate nations and peoples who are willfully ignorant of their satanic devices and strategies.

After spending the first portion of his book on a review of prior kingdoms that have impacted world history, Perry Stone concentrates the major remaining section on a study of Islamic thinking and aspirations, namely, propaganda, infiltration, intimidation, killings, and world domination. Additionally, he specifically enumerates the approaches now being taken to implement the Islamic master plan. Have read most of Perry Stone's books and needless to say wasn't disappointed in this one. He certainly did his homework and makes it so interesting to read. I recommend it to all interested in knowing more of the End Times.

This book explained very clear about ISIS and what is there mission in the world. Who has ears to hear better read this book! As with all Perry Stone books he is very well informed and make you as a reader really think and understand the works of the Bible. Very good book for believer and non-believer alike. Forget the "extraterrestrial" or "evolution", read the prophecies of Perry Stone.

Nice idea, but the book reads as if it ...

Nice idea, but the book reads as if it was translated to English from a foreign language, and if you added that much food and additives to such a small amount of soap, you would have a gloppy mess instead of a nice bar of soap. And it would be very scratchy. And plant additives in glycerin soap turn brown very quickly so it would be ugly. But they are nice ideas, if they were added more in moderation.

Smartest Horse in the Movies!

This fun little book from William Whitney, who directed many of the Roy Rogers classics, does a good job fanning the flames of equine memory, especially regarding "The Old Man," the crew's affectionate nickname for the original Trigger, who was usually billed "The Smartest Horse in the Movies."

Whether he was or not, Trigger was a member of an elite hoofernity, one that included Gene Autry's Champion and Hoppy's Topper, among a few select others. Capable of literally balancing on one foot when he reared up, Trigger was by all accounts a consummate professional. Even in his late years, when younger "Triggers" had trouble with a scene or stunt, the original would come out, preening for the cameras, and execute what was needed in one flawless take (hence his affectionate nicknames).

It was fun to ride back on the trail and revisit this legendary childhood saddle pal, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to do so!

You would think a guide through the ethical thicket that awaits creative nonfiction writers would have clearer answers. But writer and editor Gutkind seems positively Swiss in his neutrality on the simmering issues that flared into open warfare during the James Frey debacle. “Listen, I can’t answer all these questions with rules and regulations,” he tells a college audience in an anecdote from the introduction. “I am not the creative nonfiction police!” Rather than indulging in what he calls “sanctimonious pronouncements about Truth in Art,” Gutkind and his essayists offer a sort of literary realpolitik, providing thoughtful but studiously noncommittal glosses on “checkbook journalism” (paying subjects for information), compression (combining multiple events and/or quotes for the sake of narrative flow), and using family members as characters (tempting but potentially fatal to household harmony). It’s fine as far as it goes, but you sympathize with the woman who stood up after Gutkind’s college declaration and said, “Someone has to be. And you are under arrest.” --Kevin Nance

Lee Gutkind is the founder and editor of the literary journal Creative Nonfiction and a pioneer in the field of narrative nonfiction. Gutkind is also the editor of In Fact and Becoming a Doctor, the author of Almost Human, and has written books about baseball, health care, travel, and technology. A Distinguished Writer in Residence at Arizona State University, he lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Tempe, Arizona.

Explaining the genre as a whole, sifting through facts to find the best story, points of view, libel fears, immersion, and so many more concepts are covered, making "Keep It Real: Everything You Need to Know About Researching and Writing Creative Nonfiction" highly recommended for anyone who wants to dive into this field.

Great advice for aspiring creative nonfiction writers

I had read some articles by Gutkind in his journal Creative Nonfiction and was excited to see a book that included some of the most valuable selections from previous issues of the journal. As a writer new to this field, I found the chapters extremely helpful and have already been able to apply some of the concepts (mostly concerning research) to my own writing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is just getting his or her feet wet with this genre, and I think it would also be beneficial as a refresher for those who have been working with this type of writing for some time.

Nuts & Bolts of Creative Nonfiction

This is a book I'm keeping for reference. It's definitely a must for those interested in pursuing creative nonfiction as a writing genre. You'll find interesting material on plagiarism, interviewing technique, and POV. The piece on David Sedaris and the family repercussions of his memoirist writings was fascinating -- and a good lesson for everyone who intends to venture into family-and-friends memoirs. As I said, I'll keep this as a reference, but it's also a very interesting read on its own.

The best marriage-guide I've read; excellent for anyone contemplating marriage or wanting to know how to raise a family!

Excellent and practical guide to choosing a stable mate and creating a stable and happy life, complete with many practical and insightful questions to ask yourself and your potential mate, either alone or together, so that you both go into marriage with the same or compatible goals. I hope this book will be in print very soon, because there are many young people (and older people starting the dating process over again for various reasons) to whom I would like to give this book. I've read many guides to good marriage & family & relationships, and this is my favorite of all.

His two other books (as of January 2016) are also excellent guides to creating a happy, stable life: "The Hindu Way to Wealth: My Private Conversations with One of India's Richest Men", and "The Old Money Book: Living Better While Spending Less--Secrets of America's Upper Class". "The Old Money Book" is already in print--thank you!--and I hope that "The Hindu Way to Wealth" will be in print very soon, too. I buy the vast majority of my books to read on my Kindle now, and only buy books in print if I feel they will remain an important part of my life, important enough to see daily, to mark in, and to give away. The three books most definitely fit that criteria.

My only suggestion for improvement, and this applies to all his ebooks, is to have a "working-clickable-link" for the table of contents. As of January 10, 2016, you cannot click on any of the titles in the table of contents and the ebook immediately take you to that section of the book. This makes moving around in the book and going to any desired chapter of the book (to re-read, show a friend, etc.) an awkward multiple step process. I hope that this will be updated soon for all his ebooks.

An excellent book for young people

An excellent book for young people. What the author has really presented here is not so much a guide to marriage, although it is exceptional as that, as much as a guide to dating and finding out just how compatible someone might be as a life partner.

How to approach the social aspects of dating and how to slowly transition into a committed relationship: that's what this book presents as clearly as any I've read. Wish I had it growing up.

That said, it does have much to offer anyone who's at any stage in a relationship. I think real benefit is for parents, whose children are just starting to date, and young people who think they've found Mr. or Ma. Right.

Concise, clear-headed, and entertaining. An essential read.
